From Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 27, the German Treasure Hunt Championship (DSM) 2019 took place in Osburg / Reinsfeld. For the 39th time treasure hunters, detectorists, search diggers, archaeologists and history interested people met for this legendary meeting near to Trier/Germany.
Each year, the DSM is one of the big highlights of the German metal detector scene – with a growing international significance as we experienced locally there. In exhibitor tents manufacturers and their representatives presented their current assortment of metal detectors and useful equipment. For the first time we participated with our metal detectors MTC PROFESSIONAL and MTC PROFESSIONAL WS. We also had a new beta version of the MTC PROFESSIONAL USER App with us.
We were welcomed in a very friendly way and we were glad to receive huge interest, curiosity and a lot of active feedback on our “Wiesenhulk” – as our MTC is affectionately called by the detectorists! By Stefan Wildhagen from the group “Sondelsüchtig” we even had the TV team of “Spiegel TV” with us. And we felt very honored as Stefan enthusiastically introduced the MTC in front of the camera team.
Of course, the MTC PROFESSIONAL and the new app was not the only highlight at the DSM. An extra test area invited the visitors to test the metal detectors and all enjoyed a colorful and versatile program with lectures by specialist speakers and also the popular “treasure hunter raffle”. The focus of course was the Treasure Hunter Championship, which was fought out on Saturday. After the festive award ceremony, Andreas Bodenmüller, deputy Managing Director of Picosens, had the honor to hand over an MTC PROFESSIONAL – sponsored by nuggets24 and Picosens – to the lucky winner with the ticket number 900.
At least we look back on an eventful and also an extraordinary weekend for us in Osburg. And we have to thank to the countless great people we met, the experiences and the practical knowledge that we were allowed to share with them. Many thanks also to Uli and Martin from the organizing team and to all the other helpers there, who have organized such a successful event. And of course, also a big thank you to Stefan Wildhagen, who moderated the event brilliantly, with a lot of fun and who turned us into detectorists.
We are definitely back next year and we wish you always “good found”!
